Valerie Wells, RASAC I

Certified as a Registered Associate Substance Abuse Counselor (RASAC I), Valerie works with clients (immediate and extended family members and others) who are in relationships with someone who struggles with substance use/abuse/dependency.  She focuses on co-dependency/enabling behaviors with clients.  She helps clients develop a personal plan to help them establish healthy relationships with the addict in their lives and at the same time helps the client develop a plan for self-care.

Valerie’s practical background includes 8 years experience working with parents of addicted adolescents in the Crossroads Recovery Program – Parent Group.  She has facilitated groups at Bridgeway Behavioral Health-Ferguson Office including both Outpatient and After Care groups.  At Bridgeway, she worked with the population of individuals who were on probation or parole for drug offenses.  She has also co-facilitated a group at Assisted Recovery Centers of America (ARCA) working with adults using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) as a relapse prevention method.
