Maura works in therapy to provide a safe and nurturing environment to foster personal exploration. She believes that this exploration leads to change which ultimately restores balance in ones’ life.
In addition to holding degrees in counseling and psychology, Maura also holds certifications in both yoga and sports nutrition. She has experience working with clients with depression, anxiety, addictions, couples counseling and women’s health issues including eating disorders, infertility and menopause. She consults for supervision purposes with Gwin Stewart, PhD, CRAADC, 2002011104 Missouri.
Maura uses a holistic approach in therapy to promote balance of the body, mind and spirit. She integrates the counseling theories of person centered therapy and cognitive behavioral therapy with eastern philosophies of health and wellness. This includes principles such as mindfulness, meditation, relaxation techniques, guided imagery, and stress management.
